The independent media urge Belarusians to support their colleagues, convicted for political motives.

Journalist of the “Belsat” TV-channel Aliaksandr Barazenka, convicted for 15 days of detention yesterday, announced a hunger strike as a sign of protest against the illegal persecution. During the whole term of the arrest, Barazenka is going to refuse from food.

Judge of the Maskouski district court of Minsk Tatsiana Motyl punished Barazenka with detention. This judge has been repeatedly noticed in political repressions. Aliaksandr Barazenka and other journalists will serve their detention terms in the Minsk center for isolation of law-breakers.

The following journalists are serving the detention in the detention center in Akrestsin Street: Maryna Kastsialianchanka (15 days), Siarhei Kiyko (12 days), Raman Pratasevich (10 days) and Dzianis Ivashyn (5 days). We are urging to send them telegrams and letters of support.

Nn.by journalists are calling for the support of their colleagues.
