Mikalai Charnavus Returned Road To Baranavichy

The Baranavichy activist collected signatures of citizens and successfully insisted on the sidewalk repair works.

In November last year, Mikalai Charnavus Jr. asked the local authorities to repair the sidewalk in Pramyslovaya Street. He enclosed to the letter the signatures of local residents, which he had collected. In April 2017, the city executive committee sent a letter, informing them that the pavement had been repaired, intex-press.by writes.

Mikalai Charnavus Jr. says that last summer, when he campaigned as a candidate for "deputies" of the "house of representatives", he often talked to the town residents. Many people shared their problems with him. For example, Pramyslovaya Street residents, according to Mikalai Charnavus, complained of the awful state of the pavement that runs along their street and connects the houses with a bus stop.

– When I was in that district, I also paid attention to it. It was impossible to walk on that pavement! – Mikalai Charnavus says. – What about mothers with prams or invalids?

By November, Mikalai Charnavus had collected about 60 signatures of citizens in support of the repair of the sidewalk in Pramyslovaya Street and sent the letter to the Baranavichy City Executive Committee.

In December, he was told that the weather conditions so far had not allowed to repair the sidewalk, and it would be made in the spring of 2017, when the snow melted.

"To be honest, I thought that by spring they would have forgotten about our letter and the sidewalk," – Mikalai Charnavus says.

But, to the astonishment of the activist, at the end of April he received a letter from the Baranavichy City Executive Committee, in which it was said that a part of the sidewalk (near the house No.32 in Pramyslovaya Street) had already been repaired, the rest of it (the section between houses Nos. 38 and 42) would have been done by the end of the year.

"I went to Pramyslovaya Street and found that the most terrible part of the pavement had really been repaired," – Mikalai Charnavus says. – Having become united, you can resolve the problems.
