Belsat Journalist Fined for Not Released Material

Consequences of the Freedom Day take independent journalists in May.

Journalists Pavel Mazheika and Siarhei Rusetski are fined for cooperation with our TV channel, Belsat informs.

Courts were held simultaneously in Hrodna and Vitebsk

"The maximum coverage of the hottest events causes such a reaction. This fine is for Belsat, not for me, Pavel Mazheika says

"The absurdity is that the material I collected was not released, as the Minsk events "interrupted" the Vitsebsk ones, but we had an hour-play in court," Rusetski said.

The court of Oktyabrsky district of Vitsebsk fined the journalist Br460 rubles for cooperation with Belsat. Judge Alesya Zharikova considered the case. Siarhei Rusetski was accused of work for a foreign mass media without accreditation and for illegal collection and dissemination of media products during the celebration of Freedom Day in Vitsebsk.

Similar charge is brought against Moazheika

He is fined Br529 rubles, the verdict was pronounced by the judge of the Leninski district of Hrodna Petrova. Journalist's account on Twitter was the evidentiary foundation.
