"Mahutny Bozha" Sounded In Minsk Center

The hymn-prayer was performed during the Corpus Cristi procession of the many thousands in the capital.

On May 28, Minsk Catholics marched with the Corpus Cristi procession through the streets of the capital. The procession started near the church of St. Roch in Zalataya Horka, passed along Independence Avenue through Victory Square, Kastrychnitskaya Square and Independence Square to the main Catholic shrine of Minsk.

Near the church named after the Blessed Virgin Mary, the believers sang "The Prayer" by Natallia Arsenjava, better known as "Mahutny Bozha", Belsat reports.

In 1947, composer Mikalai Ravenski put "The Prayer" on music, after which "Mahutny Bozha" became a real religious anthem for the Belarusian emigrant movement.
