Siarhei Palcheuski’s Parents’ Property Distrained

The activist has accumulated unpaid fines for a total of $525 for the participation in the protest actions.

The “Young Front” activist Siarhei Palcheuski informed to Radio Liberty that the Pershamaiski district officers of court distrained the property in his parents’ apartment in payment of the fines imposed on him.

Siarhei says the total amount of the unpaid fines makes Bn 1050 ($525). He was repeatedly fined for the participation in the protest actions.

“I don’t even remember what these fines are for. It was ages ago, probably in December 2016. All I know is that they were imposed on me under Article 23.3 (non-sanctioned events).

The officers of court arrived at about 2 p.m., the activist says:

“They called some two hours in advance and warned they would come. They came, started distraining property. We found bills for part of the things – for the TV and the washing machine. These things remained non-distrained. All the rest – a clock, a chandelier, an ironing board, furniture, a microwave and a multi-cooker –were put on the record. They told me I had ten days to pay the fines, otherwise they will seize these things in the revenue of the state. Apparently, there is an option to address to the court to prove it was my parents’ property, not mine,” – Siarhei Palcheuski says.

According to the activist, his property – a laptop and a cell phone – has nong been confiscated by the KGB.

Important to note, on April 15 Siarhei Palcheuski was released from the KGB remand prison. He was detained on the same day with Zmitser Dashkevich and Artsiom Leuchanka – March 21.
