REP Trade Union Activist: Regions Played Significant Part In Suspension Of Decree #3

In the course of the campaign for the abolishment of the “social parasites decree”, Pinsk residents actively handled collection of signatures.

Head of the professional group of the independent trade union REP was elected in Pinsk. Raman Burenka was re-elected for the post, praca-by.info informs.

According to deputy head of the trade union, regional head in Brest region Zinaida Mikhniuk, who was invited to the meeting:

– Raman renders legal support to the trade union members. For instance, he helped trade union member Aliaksandr Hlobazh, whose labour contract hadn’t been renewed due to his adherence to principles in labour and production issues. In addition to that, the employer didn’t pay the bonus which he was obliged to pay under the decision of the commission on labour disputes. Thanks to Raman, the employee addressed to the court and won. Now the employer owes Aliaksandr Hlobazh the sum of the bonus and the compensation for the delay in the amount of Bn 150.

According to the unanimous opinion of the audience, in addition to legal skills, the elected head of the Pinsk professional group has all the qualities of a leader: dedication, creativity, and communication abilities.

The protest actions for the abolishment of the Decree #3 caused a vivid dispute at the meeting. Pinsk was among the towns of Belarus where about a thousand non-indifferent people took on to the square for a protest action, also the REP activists.

– In the course of the campaign for the abolishment of the Decree #3, our trade union cell handled collection of signatures under the appeal to the “Chamber of Representatives” and Lukashenka’s Administration, – Raman Burenka told. – I believe the regions’ activity played a significant role in the suspension of the document.

– It is necessary to carry out systematic work on recruiting new members to the REP trade union, – Zinaida Mikhniuk summarized. – During its existence, the Pinsk professional group doubled. However, for the capital of the Palessie Voivodeship, this is not good enough. There’s still room for improvement.
