Siarhei Kuntsevich Tells About Torture In KGB Pre-Trial Detention Center

Unknown masked men in black uniform tortured the political prisoner during interrogations.

One of the Belarusian patriots, Siarhei Kuntsevich, whose measure of restraint was changed on June 2 to a written undertaking not to leave the city, told human rights activists that unknown masked men in black uniform tortured him during the interrogation in the KGB jail. The website spring96.org published a fragment from Kuntsevich's video message.

In particular, Siarhei Kuntsevich said that during the interrogation, which was held in the building of the KGB of Belarus in the absence of a lawyer, unknown people in black uniform and in masks inflicted several blows on him when the interrogators left the room for questioning. After beating, one of them used an electric shocker against him 3-4 times, affecting his left leg for 30-40 seconds. This brought him severe physical suffering.

Siarhei Kuntsevich filed an application to the head of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, demanding to launch an investigation into torture applied against him. He also demands to send him for the forensic medical examination and initiate a criminal case against the KGB and Ministry of Internal Affairs officers guilty of torturing and ill-treatment of him.
