"Liberalization": Viniarski Gets 15 Days In Prison For Appeal To CEI Delegation

Trials of participants of the picked addressing the countries of the Central European Initiative are held in Minsk.

The Central District Court of Minsk convicted the coordinator of the civil campaign European Belarus Maksim Viniarski to 15 days in prison. Judge Viktoryia Shabunia rendered the verdict. The activist could not attend the trial, as he was at the funeral of a relative.

Trials of other participants of the picket continue. Court sent the case of the activist of European Belarus Andrei Sharenda for revision to the District Department of Internal Affairs. Judge Ivan Kastsian fined Nikita Krasnakutski 30 basic units.

On June 22, activists held an action in the center of Minsk and demanded to release of prisoners of conscience.

The coordinator of the civil campaign European Belarus Maksim Viniarski and the Belarusian National Congress announced the action. Dozens of people came to the Kastrychnitskaya Square of the capital holding the banner "Freedom to Political Prisoners!" and portraits of political prisoners in the "case of patriots."

We remind, that delegations from the countries of the Central European Initiative have arrived in Minsk today.
