How can the president of Ukraine declare friendship with the country – the military ally of the Russian Federation and personally with Lukashenka?

"This visit is not just a visit of a reliable partner, but also of a good friend – my and Ukraine’s one, who is always ready to support us," – President Poroshenko said.

Dear Petro Poroshenko, I want to ask you a question: where does it come from that Lukashenka is a good friend to you personally and to Ukraine? More precisely, what well-known facts testify to this?

Belarus does not recognize the territorial integrity of Ukraine – it consistently votes against all the resolutions.

Belarus, having a common border with the Russian Federation, constantly discriminates Ukrainian citizens.

Belarus has Russian troops on its territory, stretching the potential front line almost twice.

Belarus is conducting provocative and dangerous exercises at our borders – today our (your) defense minister has stated that. In fact, aggression from the "friend’s" territory can start at any moment. And there are no serious guarantees that it will not happen.

Lukashenka is an unpredictable dictator and foreign policy puppet of Ukraine's main enemy, with whom the war is on. And you, Petro, are a democratic leader of a European country, if we have not missed anything.

Therefore, I am sure that not only I do not understand where the grounds for friendship with Lukashenka are and what the reliability of the Ukrainian-Belarusian partnership is. Or do we simply take Lukashenka's word? Or does he support us in any way?

Certainly, no one calls on the president to tell it like it is during official visits, but to declare friendship with the country – the military ally of the Russian Federation and personally with Lukashenka – in these circumstances it is, let's say, significantly beyond the pale.
