Belarus Reduced Oil Imports From Russian Federation By Quarter

In January-May, Russian oil imports fell by 23.5%.

In January-May 2017, Belarus imported 7 million 362.6 thousand tons of oil from Russia, which is 23.5% less than in the same period last year, interfax.by reports.

The average contract price of oil imports was $ 281 per ton (40.9% more than in January-May 2016).

During the reporting period, Belarus exported 675.5 thousand tons of own oil (0.4% growth). The average price increased by 44.3% – up to $ 360 per 1 ton.

The exports of oil products from the country decreased by 35.2% – to 4 million 916.3 thousand tons in January-May. At the same time, 1 million 646.4 thousand tons of oil products were exported to the CIS countries (mainly to Russia and Ukraine) (a decrease of 22%), to the countries of the far abroad – 3 million 269.9 thousand tons (a decrease of 40.3 %).

The average contract price for export of oil products was $ 435 per ton (63% growth), including for CIS countries – $ 507 per ton (42.2% growth), foreign countries – $ 399 per ton (71.7% % growth).

In January-May, Belarus imported 1 million 165.4 thousand tons of oil products (a 2-fold increase) at an average price of $ 325 per ton (an increase of 3.7%). Almost all the volume of imports fell on the CIS countries.

The import of Russian natural gas grew by 5.2% – up to 8.5 billion cubic meters, the price increased by 6.1% – up to $ 145 per 1,000 cubic meters.

In January-May 2017, the export of energy products from Belarus in monetary terms increased by 8.9% – up to $ 2 billion 443.5 million, the imports grew by 15.7% – up to $ 3 billion 778.6 million. That way, there was a deficit of $ 1 billion 335.1 million in energy resources trading in January-April.
