Policeman, Who Wounded Minsker, Never Hit Target At Range Practice

The policeman arrived at a New Year call without a baton and a pepper-spray pellet, but with a Makarov's service gun.

The consideration of the resonant case on the use of police weapons on New Year's Eve continues in the court of Maskouski district of Minsk. Since the morning of July 27, victim Ruslan Salauyou, a policemen, who allegedly was attacked by Keramin plant worker Andrei Haurosh, has been providing his testimony.

Salauyou admitted that he wasn’t supposed to respond at all, but there was no one in the department, except him and the duty officer–there were not enough people on the New Year. He did not have a rubber truncheon or a pepper-spray pellet. He was not supposed to carry a truncheon at all, and he had to buy a pepper-spray pellet... himself, since the previous one had finished. But he had handcuffs and the service weapon – a Makarau pistol, euroradio.fm reports.

The future policeman studied to shoot at the six-month refresher courses – the guy did not serve in the army. And in the police Salauyou has worked since 2015.

Since entering the service, he has been at target practice only once – in 2016. He never hit a target there – the criminal’s silhouette – and received the unsatisfactory mark.

Ruslan Salauyou remembers only one shot of those he made on New Year's Eve, – the bullet hit Andrei Haurosh in the leg. Subsequently, during the investigation of the case, the investigator told him that three cartridges were missing in the magazine.
