Valery Minets: Only Resistance!

It’s time to counterpose the occupation of our country by all possible means.

One of the leaders of the democratic opposition, BNC representative in Lida Valer Minets said that to site of the Belarusian National Congress bnknews.org.

According to him, the forthcoming exercises West-2017 are directly threatening the independence of Belarus:

– One is not required to be an expert to get at what these maneuvers might end up with. The answer is not hard to plumb – by analogy with the notorious exercises in Abkhazia, Crimea, Transnistria, near the Ukrainian borders. In addition, we have information that there is an agreement made at the highest level on the deployment of Russian air defense forces on the territory of Belarus. If you add economic reasons to military ones – you get a complete vassal dependence of Lukashenka on Putin, and it becomes clear that Russia will not pull out the entire contingent of troops. These are the consequences of today's illegitimate authorities’ treason against Belarus.

The activist is sure that we could and should resist the occupation:

– First of all, now we need awareness-raising resistance. Pickets, rallies, leaflets – anything! It is important to bear in mind that that the war between Russia and Belarus is already being conducted, only the phases of this creeping aggression are changing. We remember how the events developed in Ukraine, so I absolutely agree on this issue with Zianon Pazniak: the lack of resistance will allow the international community to perceive the armed occupation of an independent sovereign state as a voluntary anschluss. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out work, as far as it is possible, with law enforcers, soldiers, officers, so that at least some of them would take our side, in case of the worst scenario of events. Only resistance! Information, force, partisan one. We must counterpose the occupation of our country by all possible means.

Valer Minets reminds that an important date for the Belarusian patriots is approaching – the anniversary of the victory near Vorsha. On this day there will be a protest rally in Minsk against the joint military exercises with Russia.
