Lukashenka: What If Missile Hits At One Place? Putin And I Will Die!

The dictator tried to explain why Putin did not come to the West-2017 drills in Belarus.

Belarusian-Russian joint strategic exercises West-2017 are officially completed today, September 20. The main attention is focused on the Barysauski training ground, where Lukashenka arrived, his press service reports.

Lukashenka was accompanied by the head of the Security Council Stanislau Zas, Defense Minister Andrei Raukou, Interior Minister Ihar Shunevich, Security Assistant and the dictator's eldest son Viktar Lukashenka. From Russian side there were State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota and Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov. The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu was also expected to arrive, the defense departments of the two countries said, but for some unknown reason the head of the Russian Defense Ministry did not come, the website Belarusian Partisan writes.

Lukashenka made a very clumsily attempt to explain why the trip to the training ground together with Vladimir Putin did not take place.

"What if a missile hits at one place? Then Putin and I will die! We agreed that the Russian president will observe the exercises in the north, and I will do it here," – Lukashenka said.

The improvisation, however, was bad and unconvincing. Previously they observed drills together and such problems did not arise.

Moreover, Lukashenka failed to think up at least a weak excuse why Sergei Shoygu did not come. Especially since just a day before, the head of the information department – Press Secretary of the Main Directorate of the Ideological Work of the Defense Ministry Vladimir Makarov said at a briefing, that Russia will be represented by Defense Minister Sergei Shoygu at the Barysauski training ground.
