Belarusians are a nation with a glorious past and a worthy future.

Radio Svaboda published a video explaining why Belarusians can be proud of their history:

Belarusians are one of the most ancient nations in Europe.

Our ancestors established the most powerful state in Europe - Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

Belarusians skillfully defeated the aggressors - the Teutonic Order in 1410, the Moscow State in 1514.

The Belarusian language is the oldest of the Slavic languages.

The first constitution in Europe was written in Belarusian language (the Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in 1588).

The Belarusians fought well against the invaders (the uprising of Kalinouski in 1863 and the Slutsk Zbroiny Chyn of 1920).

The Belarusians revived their statehood in the Charter of the Belarusian People's Republic on March 25, 1918.

In 1991, historical symbols became state emblems.
