Maksim Viniarski: We Need Reservations For Drazdy Parasites

Maybe there they will be able to do a world of good.

Maksim Viniarski, a coordinator of the European Belarus civil campaign, has commented to Charter97.org on the scandalous statement of the "house of representatives" about creating reservations for "parasites":

– It indicates that our appointees are completely cut off from reality. As in that Soviet anecdote about Brezhnev: "Leonid, have you tried to exterminate them with insecticidal dust?" "Deputies" live in a parallel reality and do not understand that such measures only increase discontent with the authorities. Protest moods will grow, people who are practically ignored, will defend their basic rights.

– Recently, it has been announced that "parasites" will be traced through ID-cards. What else can the Belarusian authorities come up with?

– You can expect anything from our officials. That’s not the point. It is necessary to figure out why people cannot find decent work, and then to start thinking what to do with the unemployed. And anyway, these are not the right methods.

The regime has no money, for this reason such insane ideas come to mind. Reservations and ghettos are places for the third, fourth and fifth categories of people. These authorities do not identify themselves with the people at all. By and large, reservations are needed for parasites from Drazdy. Maybe there they will be able to do a world of good.
