MIA: Russia And Belarus Are To Recognize Visas Mutually

The agreement will enter into force in the first quarter of 2018.

The agreement between Belarus and Russia on recognizing visas will start work in the first quarter of 2018. The first stage of negotiations on mutual recognition of visas has already been held in Russia, the second round is planned to be held in Belarus.

"If the agreement and other documents on the short stay of foreign citizens on the territory of Belarus and Russia are approved, the competent authorities of the two countries will establish an online exchange of information on issued and canceled visas," – Aliaksei Biahun, the head of the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs, explains.
