Viktar Shved: I Believe March 25 Will Become National Holiday

The Belarusian poet dreams to recite a planned poem on the 100th anniversary of the call to life of the Belarusian People’s Republic.

Famous Belarusian poet, publicist and translator from Padliashsha Viktar Shved greeted the audience of the Radio Racyjaя on the New Year:

– I am a temporary person already – I thank God for every day I live. On March 25, 2008 we celebrated the 90th anniversary of the proclamation of the Belarusian People’s Republic in Warsaw. I recited a poem then, and said in the end: I believe, March 25 will be a national holiday. I dream that God will let me live up to the 100th anniversary of the BPR, which is on March 25, 2018; and recite a planned poem on the day of the first call to life of the Belarusian People’s Republic.

On June 8, 2018 the Belarusian literature union “Belaviezha” marks the 60th anniversary. I wish all the members of “Bielavezha” fruitful literary creativity. So that everyone could publish individual collections of their literature achievements, so that all of them supported our beautiful literary Belarusian language with all their might, to make it live forever.
