The access to the site must be immediately restored in the interests of Belarus' independence.

Having blocked Charter-97, Lukashenka has showed that the Russian FSB keeps him underfoot. But we have the strength and courage to defend the independence of Belarus – Ales Marachkin, a famous Belarusian artist, one of the founders of the Pahonia association, said in his comment to Charter97.org:

– The Charter-97 website has always objectively covered the real economic and political situation in Belarus. Now, the activism of the Belarusian society, which is preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic, has been added to the commitment of the largest independent website’s journalists.

Charter-97 actively covered the preparation for the celebration, published statements of the organizing committee and leaders of the organizations involved in it. There is no doubt that that’s what frightened the Belarusian authorities.

I was one of the Charter-97 civil initiative founders, and I am deeply indignant by the behavior of the Belarusian authorities and the blocking of the site. I think I will not be mistaken if I say: Lukashenka's power is paralyzed. The blocking of Charter-97 shows that the Russian FSB keeps the Belarusian ruler underfoot. It can be clearly seen from his actions.

The consequences of the Charter-97 blocking may backfire on the Belarusian authorities. In any case, this step highlights Lukashenka’s political bankruptcy. In such a situation, reasonable power would as soon as possible unblock the most visited information resource, which opposes Russian propaganda. The access to the site must be immediately restored in the interests of Belarus' independence.

I want to wish the Charter-97 team strength and faith. Only the belief in the future of Belarus will help us all. We have the strength and courage to protect Belarusian independence this year, the year of the BPR's 100th anniversary. And let Charter-97 keep helping us in this!
