Vorsha Resident: Brutal Things Are Happening In Town Because Of Lukashenka’s Arrival

The people literally cannot get to work.

Belarusian blogger and journalist Stsiapan Sviatlou has written about this in the NEXTA telegram channel.

“The subscriber is writing:

In Vorsha, after the arrival of the “mustached,” brutal things started to happen, the new mayor said that he didn’t need any money, and it spoke for itself....

They drove the police, traffic police, riot police. They even do not fine – they round up everyone, they are on duty near restaurants, they snoop on the streets, the police cell is overcrowded, then they call relatives with the demand to bring rubber boots and send the detainees to the collective farm. That's gross!

In the morning, the traffic police simply block the entrance to the city and stop everyone; it’s impossible to drive through.

People cannot get to work. And this will take place until the end of the year they say. I myself witnessed a couple of cases. A policeman was standing – a local one, from Vorsha and 2 riot policemen, visitors. The road to the Flax Factory is narrow, single-lane, the pedestrian crossings are far, usually people calmly cross the road — well, they try to do quickly. They were standing in the dark, catching those unfortunates and taking them somewhere to the courtyards.

A neighbor drank at the weekend, went out into the courtyard to smoke, he lives on the 1st floor, sat down on the bench and was detained. That's gross!”
