Lukashenka met with Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, the dictator's press-center reports.
Speaking about the situation in the region, the dictator stressed that Belarus advocates the peaceful settlement of all conflicts.
“Belarus is a peaceful and quiet place. This has become our brand of sorts. We will do everything possible to contribute to peace not only in the neighbouring but also any other state. We are ready to provide any support these states may ask for, the same way we did to help Ukraine,” - Lukashenka said.
Important to note, mass detentions of the opposition politicians, who were engaged in the preparation of the celebration of the100th anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic, took place in Belarus.
On March 21 the authorities arrested leaders of the Belarusian National Congress Uladzimir Niakliaeu, Maxim Viniarski and Viachaslau Siuchyk.
Today, one of the leaders of the Belarusian National Congress, coordinator of the European Belarus civil campaign Yauhen Afnahel, and activist of the European Belarus Leanid Kulakou were detained as well.
