Volha Nikalaichyk: Spiritual Chernobyl Is Upon Country
VOLHA NIKALAICHYK

The number of political prisoners is growing in Belarus.

On the 32nd anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, Charnobylski Shliakh – an annual rally in memory of the victims of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident and its consequences – is held in Minsk. The activists have decided to draw public attention to the political prisoners in Belarus. Public activist and filmmaker Volha Nikalaichyk came to the rally with a portrait of Mikhail Zhamchuzhny:

– We use every opportunity to remind people of those prisoners behind bars who are there because of trumped-up charges. Spiritual Chernobyl is upon the country.

We declare that freedom of speech is violated in our country and there is no improvement. When we are told that something is changing, it is a dirty lie. The number of political prisoners is growing in Belarus.
