Vandals In Vileika Region Steal Information Board About Author Of First Ukrainian Constitution

Unknown people dug out an information board dedicated to Pylyp Orlyk.

The act of vandalism was committed in the village of Kasuta, near Vileika, in the homeland of the Ukrainian hetman Pylyp Orlyk. A board with information about the author of the first Ukrainian Constitution was destroyed, the Vileika local historians told Сharter97.org.

The crime was committed between April 27 and 30, about a month before the day of the memory of Pylyp Orlyk. Annually, on May 24, Ukrainian and Belarusian patriots come to the village of Kasuta to honor the son of the Belarusian land and the hero of Ukraine.

The stand included information about the history of the village and the biography of the Ukrainian social and political and military figure, the hetman of the Zaporozhye army, Pylyp Orlyk.

The stand was installed on September 2, 2015 by local historians of Vileika, near the stone in memory of Pylyp Orlyk, on the spot where the Ukrainians are going to erect a monument to the hetman.

Most likely, the information board was destroyed out of political motives and not because of hooliganism. Since it was not just broken, but dug out and taken away by car.
