Fiadynich On "Trade Union’s Case": People Retract Testimony Under Pressure

The chairman of the REP independent trade union has reported the news on the criminal case.

The chairman of the REP independent trade union, Hennadz Fiadynich, told praca-by.info that some of the witnesses, who had testified against the REP trade union, started to retract their testimony:

– The witnesses, who spoke in the Department of Financial Investigations, are writing statements to the court: they are retracting their testimony, as they gave them under pressure, as the result of threats. We do not disclose their names until the trial, but the facts are already known.

Hennadz Fiadynich explains that witnesses are retracting the testimony on their own initiative:

– The people are doing it without any coercion, without requests from the union. We got this information due to the fact that someone decided to share it of his own free will and told us.

The trade union leader negatively assesses the position of the investigation regarding the way of obtaining the information:

– If the investigation is threatening to call the convoy, threatening with prison, with the fact that the parents will not see their children, then how can one characterize such investigation? Moreover, the evidence obtained under pressure is not valid in court.
