The Hrodna Meat Plant was the first to fall under sanctions.

Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance stated the possibility of imposing a ban on the import of all ready-made meat products containing port from Belarus to Russia, reports interfax.by.

"Due to repeated cases of DNA detection of the African swine fever virus in the ready-made meat products, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillancereserves the right to impose restrictions on all ready-made meat products containing pork entering the Russian Federation from the Republic of Belarus," the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance said.

This statement was made in connection with the identification of the DNA of the African swine fever virus (ASF) in the Hrodna Meat Plant's products.

"Taking into account this fact, Russia’s Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance decided to introduce temporary restrictions on deliveries of products from the Hrodna Meat Plant to the Russian Federation since September 7, 2018," the message says.

The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance notes that since July 16, 2018, the previously imposed restrictions on the delivery of Hrodna meat plant’s products under the guarantees of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus were canceled within the framework of the "road map" of bilateral cooperation.
