Lukashenka To IT Specialists: We Are Not Going To Shrink From "Plowing Land" And "Turning Screws"

The dictator spoke of his fears of digitisation.

Lukashenka held a meeting on developing the "digital sphere".

The meeting was attended by the heads of government, the Lukashenka administration, representatives of government agencies, universities, IT-sector, High Technology Park, BelTA informs.

Lukashenka promised to hold a meeting on the whole range of problems of digital transformation of Belarus in the near future:

- Beginning with the basics: what is digitalization, informatization, computerization, how they differ from each other and what is the priority. I've already mentioned to our "digitizers" that when discussing the topic, which is far from being understood by our population (90-95% do not understand at all what it is), we simply intimidate them, without explaining what digitalization is, what kind of miracle it is, where it came from.

Another trend is that more and more advanced people see themselves only as managers of digital companies or those who are engaged in digital and IT technologies. But I pointed out that working on the land, turning screws, creating mechanical engineering products, and so on, will remain for a long time, if not forever. Although the "digit" penetrates all the sectors, including these ones. We are not shrinking from it and will not shrink further.
