European Belarus Candidates Denied Registration Again

European Belarus Candidates Denied Registration Again

The Minsk Election Commission is pathologically afraid of supporters of the European integration of Belarus.

European Belarus candidates Iryna Khalip, Andrei Voynich, Maksim Viniarski and Vasil Zhorau have been denied registration again. The activists were denied the complaint filed against the decisions of the district election commissions on October 17. The decision was made by the chairman of Minsk City Election Commission Dzmitry Shautsou, the telegram-channel of the civil campaign reports.

- I wouldn't even like to talk about it, because everything was so boring, - Iryna Khalip says. - I don't remember how many people were present there, as there were not only candidates from European Belarus. They were considering all the complaints. And everyone had the same refusals, so there was nothing interesting there.

The decision was made once and at the very top. Therefore, in this case, certain district, city, central commissions, and so on - they are just the crowd, which used to receive Br7.50 per shift in the Soviet Union. It's just that now their rates have slightly increased.

- We spent several hours in the city executive committee waiting for the consideration of our cases, despite the fact that we came on time, - Vasil Zhorau says. - The decision of the city commission was predictable, our arguments simply were not listened to. The meeting was more like a circus or a play with pre-arranged roles. Obviously, the decision to refuse registration was not made today and not by the city commission. It was simply read to us.

The European Belarus legal service will send complaints to the Central Election Commission and the courts.
