Opponents Of AKB Plant In Brest To Take Part In ‘Parliamentary Campaign’

The activists will nominate at least four people.

Four people will be nominated as candidates for “deputies” from a team of protesters against the construction of a battery plant in Brest.

This was reported by Radio Racyja with a reference to public figure Vitali Kazak. They plan thus to cover all Brest districts, he noted:

- There are many candidates, more than 4. But one thing I can say is that there will definitely be 4 people nominated by the opponents of the construction and operation of the battery plant. All electoral districts will be covered. I do not think that they will allow activists to get into the “parliament”. Still, this is an opportunity to convey the information about the problems that exist in our country, and our city in particular, to the voters.

According to Vital Kazak, activists want to publicize the information about the proposals that were voiced by the protesters, including on the feasibility of closing the plant harmful to the urban ecological situation.
