There should be no battery plant near Brest.

Brest district executive committee has received applications for another 13 rallies against the battery plant near Brest, as Radio Racyja reports with reference to BelaPAN.

Human rights activist Raman Kisliak applied for the rallies. According to him, six rallies are planned to be held from August 27 to September 1 at the stadium of the youth sports school Pribuzhye in the village of Telmy, one rally - on September 1 at the site in front of the House of Culture in the same village, and another six rallies - from 1 to 6 September in the FEZ Brest near the plant.

"We will be submitting applications until the final victory. The plant should not be at this place," - Kisliak said.

The public campaign against the battery factory began in the region in January 2018. During this time, the activists have submitted applications to hold 210 rallies, 12 pickets and 16 demonstrations in Brest and Brest region. The authorities sanctioned only one action: on 29 April 2018, the rally "Brest Women Vs. Lead" was attended by about two thousand people.

Brest District Executive Committee banned six rallies against the battery plant which were planned to be held at the stadium of the sports school Pribuzhye on August 20-25. They stadium is the permanent place for holding mass events.
