"If Someone Stands Under White-Red-White Flag, I'll Always Support Him"

People specifically return home for documents to sign up for the European Belarus activists.

Leanid Kulakou, who takes part in the "parliamentary campaign" in the 108th constituency in Minsk, has told the press service of European Belarus about the pickets to collect signatures:

- We collect signatures near the Uskhod metro station, near the Dana Mall shopping center, small shops. A lot of people want to sign, but they don't have passports with them. Some people specially return home for documents, even if they live far away and come to sign. Today, a man signed alone, and then ran after his wife to have her sign. Now I am waiting for her with the passport.

There are also those who doubt. Almost everybody says: "We do not go to these "elections" anyway. People understand that "deputies" are not elected, but appointed. Many people say that they will go to the square when we call them, when it is necessary.

They often say that they do not care about the photo and biography of the activist who is nominated as a candidate. They sign for another reason. "If a person stands under the white-red-white flag and the European Belarus flag, I will always support him," - one of those who came to the picket said. We also explain in return that the candidates, who have collected a thousand signatures, will be able to continue the campaign for another month after registration. This means that our flags and pickets will be in the streets of Minsk for another month.

Today, on September 13th, the pickets of European Belarus will be held in Minsk in the following places:

12B Niamiha Street, near the McDonald's restaurant: 16.00 - 18.00,

18A Second Bagration Lane, the Rubliouski Store: 15.00 — 18.30,

7 Russiyanau Street, the Pershamaiski department store: 14.00 — 19.00,

5 Piotr Hlebka Street, the Skala Shopping Mall: 16:00 - 21:00,

the Kamennaya Horka metro station, exit to the Matsiaryk shopping center: 17.30 - 20.30,

the Institute of Culture metro station, exit to Mahiliouskaya Street: 17.00 - 19.30,

the Pushkinskaya metro station, exit to the McDonald's restaurant: 15.30 - 19.30,

13 Karbyshau Street, the Zlatka shop: 14.00 - 19.00,

the site at the entrance to the Kamarouski market: 12.00 - 17.00.
