Belarusian Attacked Police Officers On New Year's Eve

What happened?

During the festive events everything was peaceful in Minsk, but it did not go without incidents in other places. The press service of the Belarusian Interior Ministry reported on the New Year night in the country.

There were no accidents, gross violations of public order or crimes at the festive events.

There were some accidents with pyrotechnics. As of 8.00 a.m. on January 1, eight people had asked for help in medical institutions with various injuries.

At night in Vitsebsk region, an 18-year-old young man stabbed policemen during his arrest. An inspection is being carried out. The details of the incident are not reported.

Besides, in Krychau, a woman attacked a spouse-equivalent with a knife, whereas in Shklou district a pensioner attacked his wife. In both cases, the quarrel was provoked by alcohol.

In Brest district, an Audi driver drove into a semi-trailer standing on the roadside. The man died. In Pinsk a woman died in a hit-and-run: she was crossing an unregulated road.

Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed about how many people died in the fires on New Year's Eve.
