Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya Met With Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski

They discussed assistance to Belarusians fighting against Lukashenka's regime.

Today, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya met with the mayor of Warsaw, ex-presidential candidate Rafał Trzaskowski.

The details of the meeting were published by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's press service.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya raised the issue of assistance to Belarusians who have forced to leave their homeland and can not work in Poland.

Rafał Trzaskowski noted that it is possible to create special programs for Belarusian students. Sviatlana emphasized that it is important for Belarusians to return to their country after training - after all, all Belarusians, who have been forced to leave, now most of all want to return home.

Trzaskowski also supported the idea of Polish mayors meeting with the leaders of the Belarusian people's self-government - as it would help to learn from their experience. A similar program was held several years ago with the leaders of self-government in Ukraine.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya raised the issue of supporting the athletes who were fired because of political views and lost the opportunity to train and get ready for competitions. In addition, Sviatlana expressed gratitude for the support of Belarusians provided by the Polish government and diasporas.
