The decision to close the western borders was made allegedly "in connection with the current epidemic situation."
Belarus temporarily restricted entry into the territory through ground checkpoints from Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Poland. This is stated in the message of the border committee of the republic in Telegram.
Thus, the measure affected all countries bordering on Belarus, except for Russia.
It is noted that the decision was made "in connection with the current epidemic situation in neighboring countries."
The checkpoint at the Minsk airport operates without restrictions, the ministry added.
