The IOC Will React if Lukashenka's Regime Removes Belarusian Athletes From the National Team for "Politics"

The International Olympic Committee has already contacted the NOC of Belarus.

The International Olympic Committee promises to react to the situation if athletes in Belarus are expelled from the Olympic team for their political views.

According to Deutsche Welle radio station, the IOC says that there have been no appeals from athletes so far. Nevertheless, the International Olympic Committee has already contacted the National Olympic Committee of Belarus "to get an explanation." And if there are "signals" from Belarus, these cases will be considered.

This is a kind of warning to the sports authorities in Belarus. As you know, hundreds of athletes opposed the violence of the security forces, for new elections, demanded the release of political prisoners. Many of them took part in street protests. As a result, several athletes began to have problems, and basketball player Alena Leuchanka fell behind bars.
