Officials Want to Remove Lukashenka?

The majority, along with the people, dreams of a change of power.

Among those who today hold various positions in the state apparatus, the majority, along with the people, dreams of a change of power but are afraid to speak publicly. This is the opinion of Aliaksandr Plaskavitski, a guest of the Beseda program on the Belsat TV channel, a former official of the Lukashenka administration.

Even protesters find it easier to hide from attacks by security officials than governmental officials, the Beseda guest is sure. Civil servants are afraid to show disloyalty to the regime, especially to declare disagreement with its actions.

"The security forces are a close community; they actually know that, no matter what power comes, they will have to answer for very serious crimes, not those that are done now, but those that were done earlier. Lukashenka can certainly rely on these people. And he leans on them. And it is these people that the state apparatus is afraid of," said Aliaksandr Plaskavitski.
