The activists are held in complete isolation.
The mother of political prisoner Mikita Yemelyanau has told Charter97.org that her son is being held in complete isolation.
The people with whom he is in correspondence stopped receiving letters from him, although Mikita's lawyer says that he answers everyone. They also stopped handing letters to Mikita.
“Mikita asks about his friend, Ivan Komar (who was tried along with him), but I don't know anything. He says that he started having health problems - his back hurts. From time to time he is sent to a punishment cell. I would like to hope that Nikita will be released soon,” says the mother of the political prisoner.
On February 12, 2020, the Savetski District Court of Minsk sentenced 19-year-old anarchists Mikita Yemelyanau and Ivan Komar to seven years of imprisonment in a reinforced-security colony. Belarusian human rights organizations have recognized Mikita and Ivan as political prisoners.
