Volha Mazuronak has supported the demand for another elections and is not going to leave the sport.

The European Athletics Champion of 2018 spoke about why she has resigned from the Ministry of Sport.

One of the best marathon runners in the world, 2018 European Athletics Champion Volha Mazuronak spoke about why she had to quit.

"I had to quit in order to continue to train and prepare for the Olympics. Kavalchuk, even though he is the Minister of Sports, is not the person who can control my destiny. Yes, they tried to put me in such a position that I would not be able to train and finish my career, but they were way out of their league.

Although, if they deprived me of it (in August the athlete's presidential scholarship expired - note) after the 2016 Games, I would still be getting money as a European champion in 2018," - Volha said.

We remind that in August, Volha Mazuronak signed the letter of athletes with demands to the authorities and condemned the violence. Later it became known that they did not extend the term of the presidential scholarship with the top runner and seconded her from the Ministry of Sports to the Ministry of Defense.

"Seconded for ideological education," - the marathon runner commented then.

Thus, the titled runner was left without a place in the national team and without funding. However, the holder of a personal license continues her preparations for the Olympics in Tokyo thanks to the support of the Belarusian Sports Solidarity Fund. Now Volha is at the training camp in Turkey.
