New Death From Pneumonia Near Mahiliou

However, the Belarusian authorities still do not want to introduce quarantine.

Residents of the village of Prysna 1, located near Mahiliou, are shocked, to put it mildly. All world news report about closing the countries to quarantine because of the coronavirus, which causes pneumonia. And the other day, a man, who'd just returned from Germany, died of pneumonia in their native village.

All Prysna 1 villagers have heard about the death of a 53-year-old man caused by pneumonia. First Belsat journalists meet a young couple: a man and a woman are working on their plot. We ask for their attention for a minute.

"We have learned about what happened from the Internet. We don't know anything. After reading the news, we've come to the conclusion that we need to take a break. We decided to wait a couple of weeks. The wife got a leave and we are now working exclusively at home. We don't know if there will be any messages from the authorities, how we will live further. We are on a temporary break".

Journalists are going to the store, where they should clearly know all the latest news of the village. As luck would have it, two shops in Prysna-1 are situated on both sides of the local cemetery.

"No one has been buried in this cemetery in recent days. The man, who died of pneumonia, was taken to the cemetery in the neighbouring village. I am very interested in what happened, but unfortunately I don't know anything," - the shop assistant said.

The journalists heard more in the other shop:

"Yes, I know this man. He and his wife used to come to our shop a lot. He had a job in Germany and went there all the time. Now there are all kinds of rumours in the village, but nobody knows anything for sure. Some people say he died of the coronavirus, while others say he was killed," - the shop assistant of the shop said.

The saleswoman told the journalists where to look for the house of the 53-year-old man. They said, "the richest house, so you will not pass it by". Near the "richest house", the journalists met two family members who said they were on their way from the funeral feast.

"A. returned from Germany on March 18. He was being tested for coronavirus at the airport. They didn't find anything. When he got sick, our neighbor took him to the hospital. There he was checked again for the virus, and the next day an ambulance came to his neighbor to do tests for coronavirus," - the neighbor says.

According to the neighbor, he and Aliaksandr met after his return from Germany and were sitting at the same table. Now the neighbor is feeling fine: no cough, no temperature.

"Maybe we already have this coronavirus, who knows it? They don't say anything about it, nobody says anything. Sasha was taken to the hospital with pneumonia. And the cause of death was a blood clot that came off. What do we think about that? What do you think about that? How come, the man is taken to the hospital and he dies there. We think that he should not have come back home, it would have been better if he had stayed in Germany, maybe he would now be alive," - the deceased's neighbour says.

The neighbors confirmed that A. used to go to Germany for work. According to them, the funeral was held as usual. The people were not wearing masks. The neighbours confirmed that A. was cremated, not by order of doctors, but at the request of his family. They buried him in another village, because there were no places in Prysna.

The journalists managed to contact A.'s son, but he said that he was not ready to comment on the death of his father and hung up.
