Andrey Sannikov Live On CNN: Lukashenko's Days Are Numbered
ANDREY SANNIKOV

The dictator no longer controls anything.

The leader of the European Belarus civic campaign, a presidential candidate in the 2010 elections, Andrei Sannikov, commented on the situation in our country live on CNN:

- The evacuation of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya from the country is a special operation of the KGB, which will be continued. It can be seen that she was reading out the statement under pressure and at someone's bidding. I am sure that other steps will follow, also controlled by the KGB, so Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's statements should not be trusted.

Tsikhanouskaya has left, but the reason for protests has not disappeared with her: the Belarusians want changes and therefore have rebelled against the dictatorship.

In 2010, Lukashenka was frightened by the number of people in the streets, and therefore on December 19, he ordered to use force against us. Today he is fatally frightened, so he threw the leaders: Siarhei Tsikhanouski, Viktar Babaryky, Mikalai Statkevich and Pavel Seviarynets in prison.

Lukashenka again resorts to violence to show that he controls the situation in the country. However, he is no longer in control of anything. Usually not only Russia, but also the West helped him to extricate. Today, democratic states should not allow soft approach to the dictator. It is time to move from words and statements to deeds - sanctions and non-recognition of Lukashenka.
