Belarusians will not forget and will not forgive.

The Belarusian authorities do not adequately respond to the protesters, says Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda. This is reported by delfi.lt.

"At some point, it seemed that there would be less violence, a transition to de-escalation was outlined, but, alas, recent events show that the situation is deteriorating again. Apparently, the more fear the regime has, the more inadequate the response to the situation and the rougher the treatment of their people," said Nauseda.

"I think people have a good memory, and they will not forget what was done to them," the head of state added.

"When you see these photos, when you see statistics and when you partially do not see statistics or cases, because they are hidden, and the fate of these people is unknown, is there any more evidence needed to prove that violence is taking place," Nauseda asked rhetorically.

He also assured that the reports of the Belarusian authorities about the alleged strengthening of NATO formations in the Baltic states and Poland are unreliable, and the strengthening of the armed forces (AF) of the neighboring state on the border is "indicative."

The Belarusian Defense Ministry on Monday began the third stage of a thorough check of the armed forces' combat readiness and announced full combat readiness in some military units.

"In my opinion, they (messages) are intended mainly for the domestic market. With their help, it is possible to draw the attention of the inhabitants of Belarus to some imaginary external threats. It just so happens that some states in this way try to solve internal problems - through searches an external enemy," the head of state explained.

"If it seems to someone that there is a concentration of NATO forces, then you need to provide evidence of how this is happening. But this does not happen, I know that (...). I think that what is being done (in Belarus) - these are indicative actions, to which we should not react, and we should not succumb to provocations," he added.
