Powerful international pressure must be exerted on the Lukashenka regime.

According to the former Vice Minister of National Defense of Poland, military theorist, Professor Romuald Sheremetyev, an extremely dangerous situation has developed on the Polish-Belarusian border, reports Polskie Radio.

- If there are cases when weapons are aimed at our soldiers, if security at the border is violated, then this is an obvious act of aggression, you cannot just leave it and pretend that it does not exist. It is necessary to declare that we are in a state of war, that Belarus is an aggressor, and urge it in an ultimatum to stop such actions, - he said.

The expert believes that Poland should demand assistance from NATO and EU allies:

- After all, Poland is a member of NATO, an essential defense link on its eastern flank. This raises the question, shouldn't NATO help Poland? First of all, by strengthening our defense capability, as well as by putting international pressure on the Lukashenka regime, since our state border is being violated, and Poland is exposed to a real threat of military aggression.
