Businessman Sinitski, One of Minsk's Largest Developers, Released

Businessman Vitaly Sinitski, one of Minsk's largest developers, has been released. Zerkalo.io learned this from two sources familiar with the entrepreneur. The Sigmapolus company neither confirmed nor denied this information. We shall remind you that information about his detention appeared on 27 September. Judging by his messenger activity, the businessman was last online on 19 November.

Earlier, September 28, the State Control Committee reported that the founder and owner of several shopping malls in Minsk had been detained for tax evasion of almost BYN 10 million. A criminal case was initiated against him. The agency claimed the man had "organized the distribution of profits received from the rental of premises among sixteen affiliated structures" to reduce the number of tax payments. The National Audit Office did not give the detained businessman's name. However, many suggested from indirect evidence that it might be Sinitski.

What is known about Sinitski

Vitaly Sinitski is one of Minsk's largest developers, the founder of Sigmapolus. His structures have built and managed properties such as the Titan multifunctional complex, the Volna business centre, the Tivali business centre, the Tryum shopping centre and others.

In 2018, Vitaly Sinitski's company won the right to develop the site on Nemiga, which two Iranian investors have been trying unsuccessfully to develop since 2011, in an electronic auction for almost $2 million.

In a ranking of Belarusian businessmen published last week by Yezhednevnik, Sinitski was ranked 38th.
