Lukashenka Invites Russian Troops to the Border With Ukraine

The regime intends to conduct joint exercises with Russia on the Ukrainian border.

Lukashenka’s Defense Minister Viktar Khrenin said the regime plans to conduct joint exercises with Russia on the border with Ukraine.

According to BelTA, he noted that, in 2022, Belarus and Russia are not planning large-scale exercises like "West" or "Union Shield." At the same time, "a set of measures for the medium term to cover the southern borders of Belarus" is planned.

“We are planning to conduct the exercise together with our colleagues, the main strategic ally - the Russian Federation,” the minister’s agency quotes.

Today Aliaksandr Lukashenka said that in the event of a conflict between Ukraine and Russia or in the event of a conflict in Donbas, Belarus will side with its ally.
