Statistics in the regions have been updated in Belarus.

Since December 1, Belarus has once again updated the database of able-bodied citizens “not employed in the economy”.

From May 1, 2021, apartment owners included in the list of “parasites” pay the full cost of not only water heating, but also central heating and gas supply. Therefore, with the arrival of cold weather, getting into the “base of parasites” for some can hit the wallet very hard. The Flagstaff found out how many citizens were on the lists of “parasites”.

There is currently no official information on the number of “parasites” in Belarus. However, the scale of the problem can be ascertained from the publications of the district newspapers.

There are 1,877 people in the Lielchitsy district, which is 14.1% of the total working-age population at the beginning of 2021. In the Khoiniki district, the situation is even worse, there are 1,840 registered able-bodied citizens who are not employed in the economy, which is 16.7% of the total working-age population. If this situation is typical for other districts of the region, it turns out that on average, about every sixth citizen of working age is considered to be unemployed in the economy.

There are significantly fewer real payers over “parasitic tariffs”. For example, in the Lielchitsy district, only 111 people were identified as “parasites” among the gas consumers, of which 95 people eventually managed to prove their employment in the economy before the commission. Also, only 26 people in the district pay the maximum heating tariffs.

At the same time, we note that utility rates for “parasites” are very painful today. For example, for the owner of an apartment of 55 sq. m and an average heating consumption of 1.3 Gcal per month, the cost overrun for heating will amount to 111 rubles per month. Another 8 rubles will have to be overpaid for heating the water. If a citizen heats the premises with gas, then the overpayment will be approximately 110 rubles.

Taking into account that a new rise in the price of utilities is expected from the new year, the amount of overpayment is likely to increase even more in January.
