The Guide Was Given 15 Days of Arrest for a Tour in the Center of Minsk

The guide was judged together with the participants of the tourist group.

Guide Aksana Mankevich was given 15 days of arrest for an excursion on January 31 in the center of Minsk.

Mankevich was detained near the Minsk hotel together with the members of the tourist group on Sunday, January 31st. Aksana is a certified guide. She works as an individual entrepreneur, conducts excursions both in Belarus and in the historical center of Minsk: from Freedom Square to Independence Avenue, kp.by reports.

On Monday, February 1, in the Frunzenski District Court, Judge Natallia Buhuk sentenced Aksana Mankevich to 15 days under Article 23.34 of the Administrative Code - Violation of the order of organizing or holding mass events. The trial took place via Skype. This was reported in the telegram channel "Viasna Nazirae."

In court, Mankevich said that she had giving a tour in the center of Minsk. At first, there were 11 people in the group, and then 7 remained. The guide petitioned that the City Hall and the Minsk hotel be asked to record from CCTV cameras, but the request was refused.

The guide did not agree with the protocol. It said that Mankevich took part in the event, for which permission was not received from the Minsk City Executive Committee. A screenshot from the Telegram channel was also attached to the protocol, but which one was not announced. The message contained calls to go to a rehearsal of the march before the All-Belarusian People's Assembly in the center of Minsk from 14 to 15 hours. The route was from the hotel "Minsk" to the Stele. The group together with the guide was detained at 15.15.

One of the excursion participants was fined 30 basic - 870 rubles, and the second was given 15 days of arrest.
