Babaryka Announced from the KGB Pre-trial Detention Center the Creation of the "Together" Party

Its founding congress will take place in late spring.

Ex-banker Viktar Babaryka addressed his supporters in a message, where he reminded them of the creation of a new party "Together," Nasha Niva reports.

Viktar Babaryka, addressing his supporters from the KGB pre-trial detention center, urges them not to stop halfway and to complete the creation of the party "Together." At the same time, he said that he was not a member of such political associations and doubted their expediency in the modern world.

“I have never been a member of any party and did not assume that such a form of uniting people has the right to exist in the 21st century. But the Belarusians show that I was wrong. We need a party”, the statement reads.

Representatives of Viktar Babaryka's headquarters said that they would try to officially register the party and said that, at the moment, through the official website of the structure being created, they are collecting applications for membership in it, for which everyone will need to fill out a questionnaire. According to them, a constituent congress is to be held at the party being created at the end of spring.

Recall that Viktar Babaryka and Maryja Kalesnikava announced the creation of the "Together" party at the end of August last year in a video message; apparently, the creation of the structure was planned even before the ex-banker was detained. Experts assessed differently the prospects of the new political structure, including its official registration by the authorities.

Currently, a trial is underway, where the ex-banker is accused of corruption.
