United States House Of Representatives Adopted Resolution On Belarus

The congressmen demand expanding sanctions against Lukashenka's regime and holding new elections.

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a resolution on Belarus.

The congressmen state that:

They do not recognize the 2020 presidential election in Belarus;

They call for organization of new free and fair elections under OSCE observation;

The people of Belarus have the right to determine their future without interference from Russia or other external actors;

They call for the immediate release of political prisoners, as well as for the initiation of a dialogue with opponents;

They call for expansion of sanctions and greater support for the Belarusian civil society;

They demand an international investigation of human rights violations in Belarus.
