As reported by Radio Svaboda, 68-year-old Homel politician Uladzimir Niapomniashchykh was sentenced to two years and three months in jail.
He was convicted under two articles of the Criminal Code: 369 (insulting authority) and 366 (violence or threat against an official).
The trial was held behind closed doors in the pre-trial detention center-3.
"Uladzimir says that he does not remember that moment and does not remember threatening. The only thing he said was a general phrase like 'Organized criminal group' or 'You will answer for everything,' and it was not said specifically to the prosecutor," - the lawyer said earlier.
The verdict of the court: 2 years and 3 months in prison. The court also ruled that Uladzimir Niapomniashchykh must pay 1,000 rubles to Zhurauskaya.
