Prime Minister Of Ireland: Belarusian Authorities Committed An Act Of Banditry

The ruling regime in Belarus is too weak.

In a commentary for Bloomberg, the Prime Minister of Ireland Micheál Martin harshly characterized the actions of the Belarusian authorities, who landed a Ryanair plane in Minsk at the end of May, en route from Athens to Vilnius.

“The gangsterism we saw with the hijacking of a plane last month shows a regime which is the opposite of strong,” he said.

The head of the government believes that the ruling regime in Belarus is "too weak to respect its own people or to respect basic laws."
