BOR Telegram Channel: MMZ Will Soon Be Shut Down

It is caused by problems at the tractor plant.

Telegram-channel of the Belarusian Association of Workers, which previously reported on the problems at Minsk Tractor Plant, reports that the partial shutdown of the plant could lead to problems at another production facility - Minsk Motor Plant:

- There is information about the second foundry of MTZ .One of the cupola installations (a shaft-type fuel furnace used for remelting cast iron) is "out of work." That is, the pig iron has hardened in it, and until it is taken out, it cannot be used. They have been trying to hollow it out for about 20 days.

The second one can work every other day: 24 hours of melting, 24 hours of maintenance. The main production is cylinder blocks for Minsk Motor Plant, the second supplier - GAZ - has been closed on service for a month.

There is another hurt locker: the second foundry only works on Czech coke, and there is none left. Polish or Ukrainian coke is not suitable. They can't melt pig iron using Russian coke at all: low heat output, excessive amounts of sulfur and other impurities.

Soon the Motor Plant will shut down.
