IOC Launches Official Investigation Into Krystsina Tsimanouskaya's Case

The International Olympic Committee is waiting for explanations from the NOC of Belarus today.

The International Olympic Committee has decided to launch an official investigation into the incident with Belarusian runner Krystsina Tsimanouskaya. This was announced today by the IOC representative Mark Adams.

"We have decided to launch an official investigation. We need to establish all the facts. We need to listen to everyone involved," he said, reports Interfax.

Adams found it difficult to answer how long the investigation will take and whether a decision will be made before the end of the Tokyo Olympics. According to him, the IOC is waiting for explanations from the NOC of Belarus today.

We remind that the athlete criticized the management of the track and field team at the Olympics, when she found out that she was chosen to run in the relay 4x400 meters without her knowledge.

On August 1, they tried to send Krystsina Tsimanouskaya from Tokyo to Belarus, but the athlete refused to leave and turned to the Japanese police at the airport. She said she was afraid to return home. As a result, she got a Polish visa and decided to take a direct flight to Warsaw. Her husband left Belarus soon after the incident and plans to meet with Krystsina in Poland.
